Mother and daughter duo, Nancy and Amy Brown have created an enchanting Fae World with their Fairy Wisdom Oracle deck. Although, Fairy themed Oracle and Tarot decks abound, this Fairy deck is deliciously different. How so you ask? Because these Fairies have sass! For they exhibit definite “oh no you didn’t!” and “bring it on!” attitude.
Besides various types of Fairies, this deck’s Fae World is also inhabited by Dragons, Elves, Angels, and other magical creatures. And the job of all is to guide us on our everyday and spiritual paths with their wisdom and grit.
Amy Brown is a talented fantasy artist specializing in Fairies and their elemental friends. And for this, her first deck, she enlisted mother Nancy to fill its companion book with her spiritually intuitive writing.
Fairy Wisdom Oracle’s Boxed Set
The Fairy Wisdom Oracle deck is published by U.S. Games Systems, Inc. and is available at this Amazon link, https://a.co/d/3OBSgh2.
The set is packaged in a sturdy magnetic closure boxed set with the cards nestled in an interior compartment. Additionally, the set includes a 140-page hardcover companion book, which is unique to companion decks.
Notably, the deck is a bit wider than most Oracle and Tarot decks. But its shorter length makes it still fairly easy to handle.
Moreover, the card stock used is the popular plastic-like with a matt surface causing the cards to glide easily when shuffling. And the cards are borderless! If you’ve been reading our deck reviews, you know my feelings on borderless cards by now. I love, love, love them!
Artwork of the Fairy Wisdom Oracle
This deck’s 64 numbered cards depict beautiful Fairy art with an emblazoned word or phrased message. And the cards’ numbered messages make them easy to look-up in the companion book for greater understanding of their meaning.
Ah, the artwork, the true star of the Fairy Wisdom Oracle. I mean, just take in the beauty of these images! Full disclosure, I am an huge Amy Brown fan. I have a couple of her subsequent decks and some Fairy figurines designed by her, as well. And I follow her and her beautiful images on Facebook.
Now, let’s further discuss the exquisite artwork in these cards. Amy’s depiction of these whimsical and delicate creatures in her signature soft pastel colors is absolutely stunning. For me, these images are absolute eye-candy! For these fairies and their elemental friends are just so stinkin’ cute!
Messages From the Fairies
Some of the Fairies’ messages speak to everyday life situations, like unwanted change or letting go of people and things. Other messages remind us to focus, have faith, and express our gratitude. And a few warn us away from judging ourselves and others and from not allowing others to breech our boundaries.
Then other Fairy messages speak to our connection to Spirit and our spiritual path. My fav card and message is number 63 Human Myth featuring a Dragon Fairy reading a book titled “The Human Myth.” She believes humans do exist, but needs reassurance the myth that humans “are separate from Spirit” is indeed myth.
And my second fav card and message is number 3 Bad Dragon featuring a Fairy chastising a naughty Dragon. This card urges us to focus on the lessons instead of the mistakes we or others have made. For we are here in this incarnation for our Soul to learn from mistakes and develop itself spiritually.
Fairy Wisdom Oracle Companion Book
The 140-page Fairy Wisdom Oracle companion book is hardcover and of good size. And it includes a detailed explanation of each card. Consequently, the print size is rather small in order to fit each card’s explanation and bonus goodies on one page.
A minus for some, the companion book only includes one generic 6-card spread, Past, Present, & Future Layout. I use the term “generic” here, because many modern Oracle and Tarot deck companion books include several imaginative spreads. And many are whimsical and unique to their deck’s theme.
Although, I don’t do readings with Oracle cards, there are others who do. And they’ve become spoiled by the addition of several imaginative spreads in Oracle deck companion books.
Additionally, the companion book gives helpful instruction on care of your deck and attuning it to your own energies.
Companion Book Bonuses
Above, I alluded to “bonus goodies” in this companion book. I feel these bonuses are somewhat unique to companion books and therefore are an added value.
One included bonus, is a larger print sized “Key Word” appearing above each card’s detailed explanation. This is helpful when time constraints prevent a thorough reading of the card’s lengthy message explanation.
A second included bonus, is a prayer-like “Chant” appearing below each card’s detailed explanation.
And the third included bonus, is a whimsical activity to indulge in for the day.
Due to the above bonuses, I believe the companion book’s additional wisdom offered is worth the small print size trade-off.
Companion Book Images
Finally, a full-page reprint of each card precedes its explanation. I do love the full-page aspect of the images.
However, I feel not using colored images of the cards in the companion book is a missed opportunity. For not using color for these beautifully whimsical images is almost a crime in my view.
I do hope a future update of the companion book will include color images. For competitor LLewelyn is already publishing color images in their new and updated companion books. U.S. Games, are you listening?
Final Words for the Fairy Wisdom Oracle Deck
The Fairy Wisdom Oracle is truly one of my favorite Oracle decks. I pull a card from each of about four different Oracle decks each day for inspiration and guidance. And this deck is always among the selection of decks I pull from. For this deck’s Fairies are irresistibly beautiful and whimsical.
Moreover, Fairies, in general, and their enchanting Fae Worlds are near and dear to my heart. Besides their beauty, I love how these “we folk” are dedicated stewards of the Earth and lend support to humans they meet up with. For more details on Fairies, check out the post on our sister blog, The Chi Addict at this link Fairies – Miniature Enchanters of the Fae World.
I hope you will partake of the Fairy wisdom generously offered in the Fairy Wisdom Oracle. I know you will benefit from the Fairies’ guidance, as much as I have. Happy Oracle casting!
